Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese celebrates the coming of new year by giving red pockets for good luck for the years ahead. They were given by the older relatives to the youngsters who visited their home for paying respect and celebrate with them.
This year, on 26th January 2009, Chinese (for those who follow Chinese New Year celebration like I do) around the world celebrate the coming of the Ox. Ox is the brown coloured cow, or frequently identified as earth cow.
Personality Attributes
Ox has been acclaimed to possess the following attributes: sturdy, earthy, no-nonsense. Although known for its affectionate and easy-going nature, the Ox can show a fierce temper when agitated. He/she can be neat, tidy, quiet and studious, with a great love of his/her home. Music is a great passion. They can truly be a wonderful loyal friend.
Apparently, beneath the placid, easy-going and unpretentious exterior of the Oxen, a heart of gold can also be found. They are also endowed with courageous ambition and capabilities to carry heavy burdens that might overwhelm others. They have a strong sense of loyalty and compassion towards family and friends.
People born on the year of the Ox has the ability to work well with his hands, without tiring. These people as being mentioned before are known for his/her courage under fire, and his/her dedication in working towards a goal. The ox seems to have a preference for utilising his talent in building communities or enhancing the health and well-being of others.
What the OX Year means to US
We have just experienced one of the worst economic crisis in history with the market tumbling across the world. What has the Year of the Ox in store for us ? The Ox has been previously described as persistent, kind and loving yet quiet achieving individuals, do these attributes would win this year, meaning that with courage and enduring efforts, people would make it this year to overturn the financial issues encountered in the previous year ?
Save our Planet Home, Earth in 2009
Let's hope so. With enduring courage, let's change the planet for the better too, by turning vegetarians. Let's share the message about the state of our planet, Earth if we do not turn to a more loving diet. The destruction of Earth has happened before, as mentioned in the Bible, it is still not too late for us to bring back the equilibrium for a divine forgiveness. Just remember the basic wisdom of what we sow, we would reap: "what we do would get back to us eventually somehow, maybe in multifold". Therefore, eliminating suffering from slaughtered animals for food, we may redeem our selves, not just physically but also spiritually.

What is your new year resolution for 2009 ? Could help Earth be one of them ??? Why not make becoming a vegan/vegetarian a resolution that you want to keep this year ?
God bless
