Animals sometimes are more sensitive telephatically than human  beings as we have neglected to develop our inner wisdom. Animals are our friends who at times are there to give us guidance. I think this story clearly indicates the fact that their existence complement human beings to provide us with the best environment to live and learn. Some animals like dogs protect us by providing us with warmings etc.
